Family visit visa and chronic hep b

My husband is currently in negotiations for a job in Qatar. I understand because I have chronic hepatitis b (inactive, undetectable viral load), I cannot get a family resident visa. However would I be able to apply to extend a family visit visa to a six month one? Or would it be automatically rejected?
