Hello lovely people :)

please please read and help!

I am a single mum and have been offered a teaching job in Qatar. I am due to arrive in september With my daughter. Will my daughter be on a visitors visa until my RP is sorted out? How long can she stay on a visitors visa? After my RP comes through and I apply to sponsor her residence in Qatar is there a problem as a single mother? I have a letter from her father giving permission for her to leave the country to travel to Qatar. I am separated from her father.

please give me advice if possible. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your advice peeps. I do believe the visas for both of us will be sorted by the school in advance. Then the RP process as pointed out above. I was just wondering if there would be any problems for a single mum?

WT, there is big difference between visas and RP. Visas are ready for both her and her daughter.

The RP process is very simple, unless she has medical problems. If you are dealing directly with the company then everything will be smooth

When I came to Qatar the sponsor had (!) made visas for me, my wife, and two kids. Otherwise I would not have come to Qatar.

Your sponsor cann arrange everything - talk to them

i second wild turkey...first get your rp done and then call your daughter under your sponsor (rp)

This is the RP/visa process:

1) They will arrange an entry visa for you

2) Once you enter you will go for medical test soon after

3) if you pass that you go to fingerprinting

4) You then get your RP. It took 2 weeks for me.

5) The company then applies for your daughter's RP. Again very simple process

Thank you wild turkey. I thought the RP can only be done once I am in the country on work visa? And my daughter has to be sponsored by me not my employer?

I would NOT come before the sponsor has completed the visa for BOTH of you.
