Convert Tourist Visa to Family Visit Visa

Been here for just over a month with my wife. We have just renewed her tourist visa as my RP is not yet through. Once I have my RP we need to convert my wife's tourist visa to a family visit visa which we can then extend until she gets her own RP. Our question is whether we can convert from tourist to visit visa without her having to fly out of Doha and then return? I've been given conflicting advice from people at work so would appreciate any advice from anyone else who has done this conversion. Many thanks.

You'll also need to check the paperwork that you need to get now for a family visit visa. According to our PRO here it's the same paperwork as you would for the FULL family residency application:

Housing contract attested

Marriage cert attested
