Health Card on business visa for pregnant wife

Hi guys,

I have an RP, and my wife has joined me in Jan 2020 on a business visa sponsored by my company. My wife is pregnant and we are expecting a baby in Nov 2020. I cannot apply her residency (QID) as the residency service is suspended by Immigration due to current covid situation.

In this situation, before she gets her RP, can I get a Health card for my wife. We have been consulting in Naseem-al-rabeeh and our doctor has given us a referral form for hamad women hospital. HMC is not registering her and telling to contact PHCC to create a health card for her.

Can she get health card from PHCC being on business visa under my company's sponsorship.

We have attested marriage certificate as well.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

In this case, you should call PHCC to know if they will issue a health card. Even though they dont issue health cards if you dont have RP, they will give you a good solution for you.

good luck. Call PHCC 24 hour service16000.

This is, what I could find: Everyone staying in Qatar REGARDLESS of their NATIONALITY or NATIRE of WORK can get the subsidized treatment in HMCs.

You can find the hospital ASSIGNED to you by calling 107, a toll-free number and providing them your pin code. It supports five languages including Arabic and English.

For adult residents, you need two photographs, address proof (Any utility bill) and copy of Passport for the nonresidents.

With all the documents you have to visit the nearest primary medical center run by HMC which has healthcare office. You have to visit on mornings, as they don’t process your application in the afternoon.

After submitting the above-said documents, you get the health card immediately in the HMCs. Payment has to be done using credit card, as paying with cash is not available.

During the great times of Arabic Islamic culture no hospital could reject a person who felt sick or had a health issue. Obviously, times have become worse.

I don't think your wife will be able to get hold of a health card on a business visa. Suggest you discuss this matter with your company's HR people and let them take it up with the authorities. Hopefully, they will give a solution. After all, she is also an employee of your company.
