New passport in family visit visa

I have a friend asking something about his Family Visit Visa, his passport is getting expired this Feb 28,2019 and he already have newly renewed passport in the embassy. If he will get the new passport should he update it in immigration? When he's also planning to exit in Oman.

He needs to update. Carrying old PP is tricky
