Visa on arrival at Doha International Airport

Hi,

I like to share my experience on 'Visa on-arrival' through which I brought my wife and 5 months baby to Qatar for a short stay.

The procedure is very simple and those who want to bring their family or friends to stay with them in Qatar for a short period can be benefitted from this.

My wife and kid (Indian passport holders) got Visa for 30 days duration which is extendable for 30 additional days.

You should have a valid passport (valid for a minimum of six months), round trip ticket (to and from Doha) and the address of the place where you will be staying during your visit.

The above information is sufficient to get an on-arrival visa.

In your home country airport, go to your airline counter and get the boarding pass, clear immigration (they may ask few basic questions about your travel) and security check, board the flight.

In Doha airport, at immigration counter say you want on-arrival visa, you may be asked to tell the address where you are going to stay and after the formalities collect your baggage and exit the airport ie., enter the beautiful city, Doha.

Points to note:

* No need to get 'OK to board' from your airline (anyway confirm this with your airline).

* No fees or charge for Visa (Visa waiver upon arrival).

* Carry necessary documents (ID proof, birth certificate of child etc) to show in case you are asked for verification.

Hope this information is helpful and wish you explore Qatar's culture and attractions soon.

The information shared by me are based on my experience during that period of time (October 2017). Visa policies may change.

For the list of countries that are eligible for on-arrival visa and duration, please refer to MOI website.

You should have a valid passport (valid for a minimum of six months), round trip ticket (to and from Doha) and the address of the place where you will be staying during your visit.

Just the address should be sufficient.

As Pioneerpec mentioned, for safer side you can arrange for a letter/email from your friend (if he doesn't have a Qatar id, u can mention his passport number)

Let the person who is going to provide you accommodation write an undertaking letter and attach a copy of the Qatar ID and sent to you.

Hi ViolaQ,

My family came in Indigo airlines. They had passport (valid 6 months), return ticket and rental agreement copy.

I dont think you need that much amount. Invitation letter/Hotel booking is not needed as per latest news that I saw.

Hi coolboyindqat,

I brought my family for less than 26 days. I heard the extension cab be done online or at Doha airport office.

As I already mentioned I am not sure about return ticket booking for more that 30 days.

For me they asked only the address (Door no., area), they didn't ask any proof like rental agreement.

Hi Selvakumar..

U brought ur family for how many days. For less than 30 days or u will extend for another 30 days. So when they came they had return ticket of which date?

I am planning to bring someone for 50 days so in this case can i get return ticket of that day since visa can be extended upto 60 days or has to be within 30 days of entry and then to change dates (extend ticket)?

Regarding address if I want to give my home address how exactly can I give them. Do they need some rental agreement or just some adress with place name, street name etc.

Find the answers:

* What was the return ticket date? Was it within 30 days of arrival or 60 days??

Sorry, I don't have a clear idea. I have booked within 30 days based on my requirement. It depends on the duration of the stay. If I find more info related to your question, I will share it in this post.

* What does address of stay means? WHich address shall be given?

It can be your friend/relatives address in Qatar or hotel address (if you have booked hotel for your stay).
