What is the Kite Festival?

The Qatar Kite Festival is a multi-location event that brings together over 60 professional kite flyers from around the globe, showcasing their skills in awe-inspiring aerial displays. . Visitors can also take part in educational programs and hands-on workshops, making this a unique opportunity to learn the art of kite-making while celebrating Qatar’s rich cultural heritage through cultural programmes.

Festival Highlights & Locations

Doha Marathon by Ooredoo

Kick off the festival at Sheraton Park during the Doha Marathon by Ooredoo. Witness a stunning display of colorful kites filling the sky as marathon participants and spectators enjoy a dynamic blend of sports and artistry.

Visit Qatar Sealine Season

Head to the desert landscapes of Sealine for breathtaking kite-flying demonstrations. Set against the backdrop of Qatar’s golden dunes, this segment offers family-friendly activities and a chance to experience the magic of kites soaring in the desert.

Old Doha Port

The festival’s main venue at Old Doha Port opens on January 16 with workshops, exhibitions, and fun activities for all ages. From January 19 to 25, witness the arrival of the iconic big kites, along with cultural performances, carnival attractions, and a delectable variety of food and beverage options. The historic waterfront will transform into a vibrant hub of creativity and entertainment.
