10 super foods for winter
With winter around the corner, very soon sniffles and sneezes are going to be on the spread around us.
Many people, especially those who are experiencing winter in Qatar for the first time would find it quite tricky to adapt as per the change in the climate.
Hence, the colds and red noses.
However, here’s a list of winter foods that we’ve come up with, which can bust out that cold and strengthen your immune system.
1-Carrots

Carrots are very high in beta carotene which when consumed transforms into Vitamin A in our body. Also, vitamin A is an essential nutrient to make your immune system stronger.
2-Garlic

Although some might not find the garlic odour captivating, it’s packed with goodness. Garlic has been a very important cure for many illnesses since the ancient days.
Experts believe that eating 1-2 cloves of garlic per day can actually keep the doctor away.
3-Citrus fruits

Fruits belonging to the citrus family are full of Vitamin C. It can help in fighting back with that nasty cold.
4-Eggs

Eggs have numerous benefits in them. They are high in protein, vitamins A, D, zinc, you name it. Proteins are essential to maintain a healthy immune system. So, crack them away.
5-Salmon

Salmon is a super food which contains vitamin D in it. Vitamin D is vital too.
6-Beetroot

This vegetable isn’t famous for its dark colour alone. Beetroot has antioxidants in it which in turn help to get rid of harmful radicals in our body.
7-Dark Chocolate

This rich food isn’t only reviving, but it also consists of zinc, magnesium and iron which strengthen our immune system. However, the higher the cacao content is in dark chocolate, the better it is. Look out for those with 70-85% of cacao in them.
8-Cabbage

Cabbage isn’t only cheap, but it’s very high in vitamin C too. Make sure you add a cabbage or two to your cart when you shop for winter.
9-Pomegranate

This fruit isn’t only delicious but contains of a lot vitamin B and folate in it. Try to pick out the heaviest pomegranates in your super market, for the heavy ones are the juiciest.

Finally, the miracle drink water is a complete cure for cold. Keeping yourself hydrated during winter is also very important. Make sure you drink at least 2 liters of water per day.
