I've got a US model Grand Cherokee. It came with a heavy duty radiator OEM equipment.

You may need to upgrade the radiator, biut usually there is no real issue. The problem comes with warranties and resale.
Wild Turkey : Will American spec car like RAV4 can able to handle the weather in Qatar. I am seeing some dealer bring US Spec car over here for sale. Price seem to be less compare to GCC cars but will it be any issue for spare part availability ?
Death valley us dry heat, yet here its very humid, wouldnt it make a difference? More strain on the ac system i suppose.
The A/Cs do fine if maintained properly. They're made for Arizona which has the 'Death Valley'. It's the same heat as here.

Why are you guys buying new cars?? depreciation does not affect you when it comes to resell?? i dont mind buying a 2-3 year old car that has been maintained well and checks out well,but buying a new car is out of the question even if it does not reflect my budget, @wild turkey how does the ac's in the jeeps hold up? My ex was a car nut so i know a little, but not here.
Go for a Brand New Toyota RAV4
Basic would cost you approx. 88000/- QR.
Say you sell the car in 2020 (5 years later), you can atleast get QR. 60000/- for a RAV4
(so basically your cost is 28000/-)
If you buy a second hand RAV4 (2011 atleast) it would cost you approx. 50000/-
If you sell that RAV4 in 2020 (9 years later from the original model year) you would get back approx. 20000/-
So your car cost would be 30000/- plus any maintenance you would face. Plus you are not enjoying a Brand New Car.

75000qr is your budget right. I suggest u go for some Ford or Chevorlet or VW SUV's . Good Ac good cars. Don't look to sell em.
Yeah Wild Turkey is correct! If you know nothing about cars..you will depend from mechanics/ garage out there and will charge you a lot of money! So that's why maintenance is expensive.
I am selling mine (Ford Edge), much lesser than that :-)
anyhow, whatever u buy, try to get SUV/4WD in this country ...

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee V 8, a Cherokee Classic, and a Wrangler. I order spare-parts from the US. They are not at all expensive. The Wrangler (1997) is one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. And I have owned Mercedes, BMW, Austin Healey, Mini Cooper, Opel Rekord, Buick, Chevy Impala, Chevy Caprice, Chevy Cavalier, Porsche 911, and others. However, I know how to repair cars myself. If you know nothing about cars every car is expensive when it comes to repairs!
@Sunshine, in case you want a saloon you can opt for a new corolla or an accord! If you are very particular about a 4x4 or a SUV then you will have to settle down for a good condition pre-owned one. In fact these days I am hunting for a similar vehicle and have seen a few CRV's / ford edge / Mit.Outlanders in really good condition and at almost a similar budget. Check out from search engines like www.qatarsale.com.
Rav 4 for 75000 ? Do you mean second hand car ? I am sorry no suggestion for second hand car. Still check with agency rav4 new car with the price what they offering ? Compared to X-trail and outlander, nothing.
Jeep has not been very popular here. You hardly get to see one on the roads. I am told the spare parts are very costly and you can get them only from the agents. You may face difficulties reselling it later on.

I was thinking of a rav 4?? Or a jeep wrangler, not sure though, although i must say it should have a strong ac system.
Add 3000 extra, go for X-Trail basic version.
