Are you Burnt out in your job? Here’s how to find hidden Job Stress
By : Fazmina Samat
Burnout is more than just having a tough week at work. It’s a state of chronic stress that can leave you feeling drained, disconnected and unmotivated. Let’s break down the key types of burnout and what causes them, so you can recognize the signs and take action before it gets worse.
Feeling under challenged
Under-challenged burnout happens when you’re not being pushed or appreciated at work. Imagine having a job that’s way too easy for your skills. While it may seem like a piece of cake, over time, this can lead to boredom and sense of being undervalued. You might start feeling like your potential is wasted, which can be really demotivating.
Drowning in work
Overload burnout in other words, is a result of giving too much of yourself into your job. This could mean long hours, too many responsibilities, or unrealistic expectations from your employer. When you’re constantly in overdrive, its only a matter of time before you hit a wall and feel completely overwhelmed.
Falling behind
This occurs when you feel like you’re not exactly meeting the expectations at work. If you’re struggling to keep up with demands and feeling like your performance is always inadequate, this can quickly lead to frustration and burnout. It’s like running on a treadmill that’s going just a bit too fast – very exhausting and disheartening.
Distrusting your coworkers
Starting to see your colleagues as egoistic or losing faith in your job’s purpose can be a red flag. This outlook often stems from feeling underappreciated.
Thinking of how to overcome these feelings, stay tuned for our next post.
