About Article 49 of Qatar Labour Law
Can I ask assitance, can you interpret the said article state that:
If the service contract is of an indefinite duration any of the two parties thereto may
terminate it without giving the reasons for the termination.
My question is: Even without reasons and even you perform well, This is on the side of the employee?
This applies if the contract is silent about notice periods and if the contract is indefinite, but if the contract or the HR policies of the organisation state otherwise then whatever is there will apply.
In fact it's with the employer, not the employee; The employer can terminate the employment contract any time (since it is indefinite) without any reason, provided that he will give a one week notice (if the employee is in service for less than a year) to the extend of one month (if more than five years)...
