The work sites and work places would be a more friendly and happier place if both the partiess sit togather and try and sort out the matter. Paying very low salaries and putting the lives of the children at risk by employing unhappy and pooorly paid drivers is adding to the risk of a major tragedy waiting to happen. Taking arbitary decisions, cancelling their visas just because the company can is certainly not the way forward to a just solution of this matter

The problem is that parents absolve themselves of the problem of ferrying their children to and fro from school.

By Mr M.• 16 Sep 2013 10:14
Mr M.

This has stemmed out of frustration of the bus drivers who are not paid well and sometimes with a delay. How will they make ends meet here?.The company management will have to answer that. And besides what if the drivers pour their frustrations on the innocent children?.That would be another serious issue.

Gulf Times, Sept 16, Page 3:

School vows to take action against striking bus drivers

Gulf Times, Sept 16, Page 4:

"Parents lament school fee hike

Parents of a number of students at an international school have complained of an increase in tuition fees by 40% from preliminary to secondary classes, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday. They said that this increase is a heavy burden, specially for those who have more than one child in different stages of their studies."

Well what is it that parents want? Cheap schools AND well paid teachers and drivers?

So who do we believe? The "Asian driver" who tells The Peninsula that most are paid 1300QR/month, or the driver quoted in the Gulf Times who says that some earn 700QR and others earn 1800QR?

Or are they all paid different amounts?

Misleading post.. The newspaper article says that most are earning 1300 qr.

I agree with Rip Cord... The parents will soon complain..

The interesting part is that the Taleb Group have filed a complaint with the Police..

it means if salary increased, tuition fees will increase too, so expect another complain again :).

Worst part is the school is taking actions against the bus drivers.

This is utter stupidity. They should take action against the employer and company.

The worst and dangerous type of protest is the silence protest. What's to stop a disgruntle bus driver from driving at 150km/h straight into a wall, full with school kids.

Parents, think about ur kids. Tell the school to help the drivers, not condemm them.

By Rip Cord• 16 Sep 2013 07:05
Rip Cord

They should pay for the privilege of driving the kids to school.

What will happen.

Parents support the drivers and their poor salary.

Once the parents are told tutition fees will have to rise to support the new salaries of drivers, parents tell drivers to get back to work

They were not even giving that salary on time? Really bad and shameful.
