Good luck with your school year as well. I am going to take as many personal items as I can taking into account the weight restrictions for my suitcases. Enjoy the rest of your summer vacation . Cheers.

Maybe my experience in teaching before was a little bit difference as per culture is concerned and the type of students I had been but one thing I can advice to you is you should have a lot of PATIENCE to meet your goal as a teacher. Good luck.

bring your tooth brush and some relaxation rubber ball , because you need to relax and clean your mouth when you finish the 15 minutes driving from home to work ;)

Hello Miss Teacher and Canuckgal! I will also be coming to Doha to teach primary school in August. I am so excited and can't wait for this new adventure to begin! About the items....after my experience living in other foreign countries...I always bring my own tampons from the states! Good luck to you both, perhaps our paths will cross!

Hi! Be prepared for rude people..that's what I was not prepared for when I first came in Doha.I am not saying all people are rude, but when you come here, you will get the idea. If you live a simple life, you will survive. Good luck and all the best! =)

Hello Miss Teacher,

I have recently accepted an elementary teaching position and will be moving to Qatar in August. I am excited and looking forward to doing some travel during school holidays. Good luck with your new position. What items are you planning to pack? From what I hear, I think I will just buy electrical items like a laptop, hair dryer etc., upon arrival.

Cheers

Hello.. My advices are:

Do bring lots of PATIENCE. Always bring with you a handkerchief because you'll meet a lot of people with BO along the way - (they're almost everywhere, except for your own home of course, if you live alone or if you live with clean people). You have to learn to entertain yourself. The first time I've been here, I got so bored to death but somehow managed to learn to be content and keep myself entertained anyhow.

I hope you can survive the heat (+ BO / bad air), hope you can survive the tempers in here, just enjoy your life in your country as much as you can before time runs out.
