Common delayed Visa process

I have been hired by a governmental company in Doha. I was told that my visa process should not exceed a month time;however, it has been 2 months now and still being told "in process". Is this normal? I am becoming frustrated for being kept waiting without clear answer. Any similar experience?

:-) Welcome to Qatar. When we arrived in 2004, it took nearly four months. The company didn't take an active interest in finding the delay until they realized that we had been driving the whole time with our American driver licenses. :P Good luck, should be coming soon hopefully! :-)
