Keep adding skills and knowledge in your life by taking part in courses and workshops or even hobbies. Being well prepared is the key objective in job hunting. Online job portals and newspapers
Find online job listing websites and peruse the classifieds section of newspapers to mark all vacancies in your field. Register yourself on the most relevant career websites pertinent to the region. For finding jobs in Qatar, the best online portals are Qatar Living, Bayt.com, LinkedIn and monstergulf.com.
Create a comprehensive candidate profile listing all your academic and experience details along with accomplishments. Subscribe for job alerts in your areas of interest to be mailed to you, almost all job oriented sites have this option. Keep searching the site regularly, as new vacancies are being created on a regular basis. Keep updating your CV on a monthly basis, so that it does not get archived further back in the hefty list of resumes.
Search the job listings in your preferred categories, select a crieteria, read the descriptions well to understand what you could be potentially undertaking, and submit your cover letter and CV.
Social media
With the ever-increasing reach of social media, agencies have taken to advertising jobs through it as a competitive strategy in the fast paced employment world. What might appear to be first-come-first –serve basis is not necessarily a lost cause. People who see and apply first for the job posts may not be well qualified for them. Increase your chances by having a cover letter and CV ready, and sending them to the provided means of contact with the company.
Recruitment agencies
Find recruitment agencies in Qatar that cater to the specific area of your career. The agent looks after the documentation processes and details of the rules and regulations as well as job placement procedures.
Manpower suppliers and companies
These companies provide skilled as well as unskilled manpower, such as engineers, site supervisors and project managers.
Cold calling and contacting headhunters
Cold calling implies that you find the organization you are interested in getting a position at, and contact them to inquire about a vacancy. You can do this through email as well, but calling will bring you in direct notice. Give your introduction and qualifications when inquiring about a job role. Perchance they do have a job opening; your call will serve as a timely opportunity for both yourself and the company. If they do not have any vacancy at the moment, you don’t lose anything. Request them to keep you in their record in case a vacancy is created.
Contact headhunters directly to gain the freshest and most pertinent insight into the market and available jobs.
Networking events
Not all vacancies are advertised, and tapping into these resources can help you land up with a job sooner than through the other means, as most people are not aware of the vacancy. Networking events are a great way to meet and get to know people in the industry. Don’t limit yourself to business networks only. The essence of networking is getting to know a number of people from different organizations. Chances are, that several people in these networks would be aware of jobs that have not been advertised anywhere yet. Get the required information and contact the company with your updated CV. Keep checking the events section for networking and job fair events.
Open days and workshops
Companies hold open days, workshops, and job fair events that provide an opportunity to network and find the best suited job roles. Be on the lookout for all workshops and events and save the date on your calendar. Be on time to the event, have all your documents in order, and adhere to the dress code as mentioned in the event description.
Internships
You can make good use of your time by finding an internship at your preferred organization. It gives you ample opportunity to hone in on your skills, learn new skills, develop hands-on experience of the occupation, build your business network, and give you a clear idea of how well you can adjust to the professional atmosphere. Instead of applying for jobs and waiting for the perfect opportunity to show up, becoming an intern will increase your knowledge and expertise in the field.
Volunteering
Most companies look favorably upon candidates who have previously engaged in volunteering. It shows a willingness to perform beyond designated tasks and a healthy interest in the welfare of the community.
Perseverance
The most important part of job hunting is never giving up. There will be stages of burnout, and that is when you need to take a step back and relax. There will also be intervals of inactivity and even despondency during the process, but never allow yourself to wallow in that state. Treat yourself to a nice break, where you can just relax and unwind. Retain your energy and then step back into the game with fresh vigor. Go through the latest jobs posted on this page and keep checking for more updates.
Happy job hunting!
Since 2015 I am searching job for Qatar but still I had not received. Now please let me know how can I get JOB in Qatar.
Agree with @movingoutqatar inshort Vaasta, internal source. They take your interviews and all but finally the offer job to one in Connections :(
A very good article! Of course connections and relationships matter. But if one is working hard for it, there would definitely light at the end of the tunnel sooner or later.

Would like to add one more point: Relationship!!!
As per my knowledge, most jobs in Qatar are given to someone who are already related or known to someone in the management. They will be asked fewer questions & the process will be more quick.
(In Qatar they give importance to relationship, more than anything else. Correct me, if Iam wrong...)
Good article .. Would tweak a little for GCC - Volunteering and internships are very difficult here unless you have connections
