It would be better if you will transact with BPI Accredited Remittance Partners here in Qatar to save on charges.. They are giving higher exchange rates and lower bank end charges.
Here are the BPI Accredited Partners: AL FARDAN EXCHANGE, AL DAR EXCHANGE, AL MIRQAB EXCHANGE, NATIONAL EXCHANGE, ISLAMIC EXCHANGE, and EASTERN EXCHANGE.
Funds will also be credited to any BPI account after a few hours or the following day even on Sat, Sun. and holidays.
Thanks for the replies. Anyway, FYI I had tried twice already: over the counter and online using the same sending (QNB) and receiveing (BPI) banks. The charge would cost around USD40 + USD4 (QNB charge) even if you send dollar to peso or dollar to dollar accounts. And...I was not happy. I will try remittance next time.
I'm transfering cash through online from Doha Bank to my Indian bank account,Doha bank charging Qr.10 and My indian bank dont have direct link from doha bank so they deducting 78 Rupees
Why do you transfer money from QNB to your bank. The exchange rate of QNB will be different from the Money exchanges in their favour (you loose money). They will take some additional commissions as service charge also. Withdraw the amount from QNB and go to one of the nearest Money Exchanges like Western Union and transfer the money to your account.
just be careful when you wire your money from QNB to any other banks in your country. I had once tried to wire some money to my bank in India. To my surprise i found in addition to the telex charges there were some dedcutions to the tune of 5% of the cash transferred. ( I am not sure of the percentage, since i transferred a small amoutnf for a trial.
Anyways the catch is not there, when i went to my branch asking them the reason for this even to the extent the bank manager couldn't reply to that and i felt they were ignorant on that. it was a suprise for me. later i was asked to go to the one office in the MALL. it seems they could clarify the same. After that I didnt try that.
Strange but true, a branch manager was not able to help me. When i enquired this to my bank in India within minutes they gave me an answer that those are the charges levied by the associate bank of QNB in India. So beware of these things and confirm before you send.
