How much are you getting pay per month?

pctha
By pctha

I know this can be a sensitive issue but I am just wondering if you are honest enough to let each others know how much you are getting per month while working in Qatar.

I'd consider that any honest information post here would be great helps to those that are considering an offer or into negotiation for a position offer here.

I don't understand how knowing my salary (without knowing anything about me, like what I do for a living) could help someone else decide if they should take an offer.

If I make QR 1K a month and you are offered 10K you might come where if I make Qr 50K and you are offered 10K you wouldn't? It would seem you need to determine YOUR needs against your offer and not worry about what someone else makes.

I am not surprise with somebody asking how much is our salary in middle east. I was shocked the first time ..somebody came down from Mars at daylight suddently asking my salary. I was irritated at the beginning but then I smiled only ...Mars is uncivilized, isn't it?

i thought i answered your query...

from 500 (some say from 350) to 200,000 (some say to 400,000) a month..

its all about curiosity here, there is no labeling of anyone or individual.

It's interesting how $$$ can be a very sensitive issue here in QL.

Well, some are not receiving their pay. Sad to say that. PCTHA, why don't you ask your friends' friends about their salaries. at least they are familiar about you being too curious how much they are getting. :-)

My friend PCtha...If I was to hire you, I wouldnt even offer u peanuts. Coz your trying to be over smart. Instead of asking our salary status, or our friend salary (how stupid is it to quote my friends salary???)or Barak Obamas salary for that matter, why dont u just say.." friends, I am looking for some opportunities in Qatar. This is my qualification, this is where I work and these are the qualities I have. Now how much do you think I can get in the same industry".

Simple as that...will be glad to let you know.

there are several factors depending on ones salary...

and can never be compared.

This part of the world expects trained and skilled labour force to work, earn, spend, save a little and enjoy life. Rest depending on YOUR lifestyle.

the point is just to let people have some rough ideas of what are the pays like here in Qatar.. so that people who are considering a position or negotiation have some rough estimate.

If I don't want to tell how much I'm getting, do you think I'll be happy that my friend will tell that here?

I'm sorry but asking someone how much he's making is a no-no, that's unprofessional.

professional, sounds dumb? as posted by Ocean...i wonder what does asking a question can be "dumb"...

interesting to hear that some is getting millions and thrillion...

Like my second follow up post, you can just post your friends pay if you don't want to tell yours.

I am sure that many QL users (new and old) would be interested in the different pay check that every one is getting. Don't you?

yes, it is the same in qatar. Even allowances are different for the same grade in the same company. For instance in our company male gets housing allowance almost twice as much as a female.. this is actually weird.. like a girl needs less space for living or what?

so you can be doing the same job, position and rank... but different pay?

if different, what is the gap? a few hundreds dollars or thousands? JUST wondering...

that time of country =1B range of salary... uhm... ok fair enough...

May be you can post your friend's pay, and his nationality so that the readers can follow some rules to negotiate.

a) nationality, first and foremost.

b) education

c) experience

d) supply and demand

e) negotiating skills onf both parties

f) who is the hiring company.

So unless we were to list all these criteria your question would be pretty much irrelevant.
