In my over 20 years of working i can say that my company now is worst of a kind in terms of how the owners handle it. I dont want to elaborate on that further bcoz my concern now is to how to get an NOC from them. They are saying time and again that they are not GIVING NOC to all their employees. Fine. How about BUYING it? Sabor..that is not my question to u my dear QL mates.. I just wanna know if there is somebody out there who were able to buy NOC from his sponsor? And how much if there is any.. Just want to have an idea bcoz obviously im planning to do it.. Badly need ur thoughts on this pls.. Thnx much.

I feel sorry for you. Try going to the National Human Rights Committee. Many were able to get it this way, but it takes patience.

Another option is to go social. Try to cling to another company and ask their (national) person in charge to negotiate the NOC socially. This works as well, but it takes patience and social skills.

If you go with the option to compromises or decide to pay for your NOC, be aware that the employer is required by law to give you salary and end of service benefits, and the law doesn't permit him to negotiate this aspect. Therefore, you may go the compromise approach, but come back to your employer and punch him by suing him (I suppose you can still claim your end of service benefit despite having agreed to replace it for a NOC because there are illegalities in this process and the employer will most likely bear them).

God Bless you all.

If you have made up your mind to pay and get the NOC try negotiating the amount with the person in authority. They may ask you to forgo salary or end service benefits.

I have known such cases where people have got NOC this way.

"NOC at the sole discretion of the employer" has made things very bad for employees even in very genuine cases.

Robbery it all depends on the mandoob and the hr coterie.

Well, the so called change in rule is not going to be what we want it to be. It is just the words.... SPONSERSHIP to CONTRACT, deep inside, everything is going to be the same.

I am tired of working in this JAIL like scenario. And Dubai's law is totally different, there, the visa is issued on an individual's name not the general mandoob/company 's name.

Next time i am going to go to any organization in the middle east, my foremost question will be about THE NOC POLICY. If i have education, experience and will to do hard work then i NEED to have a bit relaxation when it comes to such laws. I am a human and deserve a humanly treatment.

I stopped paying any interest in jobs in Qatar but i am starting again, TODAY! And the day i find a good one, i will take the offer letter to my G.M and try out my luck, i have faith in God/Allah that it will work out. Otherwise, all my attention will be towards, BYE BYE QATAR!

LP haha thnx much but i think they r much clever not to give receipt to me if in case.. Having NOC is more than enough with me though..

Dudboy i think i read that also thnx i might check later..my company is also saying EXACTLY the same that IT'S NOT IN THEIR POLICY! WTC! Govt already issued a statement that they r going to abolish the sponsorship system..hopefully sooner than later but i dont want to wait anymore. This is the reason why there are so many disorganized & worst companies in Qatar. More & more qualified & competent people r afraid to go or come back to Qatar bcoz of this system.

few weeks back, there was a post on QL about some one willing to help get an individual an NOC. You may have to coordinate with this guy and get urself the NOC.

Also, i have been working with an engineering organization for over 5 years and they too just dont give out the NOC, saying that ITS NOT IN THEIR POLICY!

Just praying and hoping and waiting for the govt. to take the appropriate action to open the NOC by force for all companies 'cause if they dont, people like me will consider it to be the biggest mistake comming over to Qatar and serving for so many years.

If you can buy the NOC from your company, keep the receipt and take them to court afterwards!
