How to open a indian demate account.

I am having State bank of india savings account. Now i want to open a Indian demate account to do online trading . Wats the procedure to open the account from Qatar.
If any body knows please tell me the procedure .

Open onlinesbi.com and download demat a/c forms and fill it & send to bank. Bank will check all documents and open demant a/c for u.

Do remember that if you open a demat account as a NRI, you can trade in only certain number of stocks in certain sectors due to FDI restrictions imposed on sectors by RBI and Govt of India.

The best way I suggest is for you to open a demat account in the name of a relative of yours who is a resident indian and you can use the online trading facilities offered by almost all brokers today.

In doha bank main building there is a section , they will help you to open demat and trading acct. or you can ask your relatives to open an acct with brokers like geojit and Hedge equties/ etc and trade online
