HSBC : Crappy customer service - TRUE?

I am so pissed off right now with HSBC. I have been trying to compose myself for the past few days and be patient with HSBC but I think I've had enough. Honestly, I really didn't want my account (salary) to be in HSBC but because my company has a strict policy for all employees to have our account with them, I didn't have a choice.

Can't tell you the exact problem but all I wanted was that when I call their customer service, at least someone would pick up. Boy! For the last days I would spend a lot of time calling numbers of HSBC (all branches), trunkline, customer service, even my agent's personal number...no one would pick up! NO ONE! In the website it says that the main branch (airport) is open from 3pm, I called up at 3:15 to 5 pm....the phone would say "we cannot answer your call because our office timing is from 3 pm to 8 pm"...but i called up at 3:15 and then 4:00. From 3 pm to 8 pm i had tried more than 10 times.

This morning...i was able to talk to someone and he told me he'd get back to me at 12noon...i said ok...but he didn't.

Is this really like this in HSBC?

but I am not also pissed off with them. I do all my transaction through internet banking and so far, so good. Even queries, it's fast.

But when you do OTC transaction, all my three banks are the same. Toooooooooooooo loooooooooooooooong!

Haven't you been in the Gulf long enough to know from experience that you cannot do business with a phone call? It always takes a personal visit.

It was a blessed relief the day i closed my bank account there.....after four years of problems.

over the phone, so it is no use calling. I went to HSBC on Monday to deposit 1 check. It took them 50 minutes. Ridiculous, but I am used to it by now. I am just glad when it only takes 1 visit to get something done, rather than 3 visits.

hi ruby, reminded of my atm cards...it took them 2 weeks to give me a call that it's ready. they told me it's in Airport branch at 7pm, i went there at 7:30 and they said they made a mistake, it's actually in Salwa Road. So they said i should go back the following day to get it at the Airport branch.

It was so casual they didn't care they have wasted your time...

hi Joe, all banks are the same in terms of what services they should render, but how they do it it's a different story.

HSBC's customer service is horrible. I am not a fan of CBQ but their customer service is good, likewise with Ahlibank and IBQ...at least they pick up the phone.

Dear Friend

All banks are similar and we cannot say one is betterthan the other. The guy who told you that he will get back may have LOST HIS JOB, and so he did not get back.

IBQ has been a good experience so far. HSBC: Well, remember, it is a (world's) local bank and follows the local traditions! Nothing new about customer service standards! Good luck!

Ther are really bad for personal banking ..i have seen and heard many people are having issues. but they seem to be good for corporate clients, that might be one reason your company sticking with them

I have been with IBQ, Ahlibank and CBQ and most of the times someone would pick up your call and when they say they would call you back..they would. And i am paying 70QR for the Advance Status for HSBC. I am f.cking paying for nothing...
