i am no expert in islamic financing but i think you meant here is 'interest' with the element of 'ribaa' involves.
in conventional financing, the banks charged you interest.
in islamic finaning, they charged you 'profit'. of course the 'akad' or the loan agreement between you and the bank are totally different from the conventional ones as they follow the islamic law
I don't think there is a problem to call Qatar an islamic country as majority of the population are Muslims.
