Interviewing

I've heard that the candidate should avoid using his left hand to make contact. The reason for this is odd but seems to be a cultural issue.

Are there any other cultural differences between Qatar and the US that would be useful to know in an interview?

I suggest you research Gulf etiquette online or in a bookshop. I think you have a lot to learn. good luck for the interview.

I am certainly not trying to wind anyone up, but simply asking for advise. I had no idea of the left hand issue prior to learning of my interview.

I am hoping to avoid these kind of errors which is why I asked the question.

I also have further learned that I should not cross my legs. I am not aware of the reasoning behind this but it seems to be simple enough to adhere to.

I think I'd avoid this jerk - it's a crude attempt at a wind up.

salaam!

it's not odd at all when you realise that people in this part of the world wash their bottoms with their left hand.
