He has 1 year experience and was a second class honour student. I'm Canadian and coming to Qatar to meet him because we are waiting to get his Visa to return home to Canada and he needs to work if we are going to be together. Does he have a good chance of getting work there or should he have applied from his country and then come over?
Will he be able to get a visa for me via his company? Do most oil and gas companies provide a furnished place with others living in a compound? what else do they offer?

I don't want to go into your personal life so I will just answer your questions:

1.Does he have a good chance of getting work there or should he have applied from his country and then come over?If just getting work then he will have a good chance but if the question is a work with a salary he is expecting if he were hired from out of the Country, then I doubt it. Most employers would think he is desperate for a job and may offer less than what he is expecting.

2. Will he be able to get a visa for me via his company? If he gets his work visa and meets the requirements for family visa, yes he will be able to get visa for you.As for the requirements for family visa, just do a search as that question has been asked here so many times.

3.Do most oil and gas companies provide a furnished place with others living in a compound? It depends on the position in the company although most gas companies provide a furnished place to westerners and people in management position or high value skills.

4.what else do they offer?I am not privy to other packages in Oil and Gas companies.

Hope this helps.

Ok sorry! I should have mentioned that he does have a visa for Qatar. He doesn't have a visa to come home to Canada with me because he was declined a visa and now we are appealing the decision and we are waiting for a full hearing within the next 2 years after we've already put in a year waiting to be in the same country. No, I don't think anyone gets a visa to Canada in 11 -12 months. Immigration will do anything to stop people from coming in to Canada. We're meeting in Qatar because we want to be together and we haven't seen each other since January. I lived in Nigeria for 7 months and I can't eat much of the food because my body does not like it?

Does that help to give me an answer to my originals question?

wierd stuff..

1.how he is coming to Qatar if he doesn't have a visa?

2.why are you coming to qatar "to meet him"? I mean why did you guys decide to meet in Qatar? Based on what? He has no job here, no visa, you have nothing here either. Why QATAR?

3. Why do you both need to wait for his visa in Qatar? He will get his visa to Canada (if!) within 10-11 months. And if he got a job here, how you are planning to go back to Canada?

4. it is next to impossible to get a visa for Nigerians in Qatar.

5. you strat from the wrong side. Instead of asking "What the companies here will offer to him" why wouldn't you ask "what HE can offer the Company, and if Company needs his offer"..

But the main question is No.2

You seem to be quite confused..
