Why on earth does a person need to show their picture? What is the impact this could have on the job or his knowledge?

I understand the Single/Married part and I get the Male/Female issue as well as the age. But a picture??

2 pages, maximum 3 pages please...more than that, its a waste.

I screen CVs for possible position vacancies in the company.

Start with work experiences first and highlight your main duties and responsibilities.

We don't need your latest educational attainment but do not include your "before: college/university educational history.

We're not asking how many kids you have or their names and birthdays...we just want to know if you're single or married.

We don't care about your religion...

And please...do not use a cut out picture...use a professional passport size photo...you're applying for a job...not a facebook or something.

You have to add your picture (Very weird), and since the country is based on racism, Add your nationality and since they are a bunch of sexists, add your gender.

Then just Lie all over the CV and if you cleaned toilets, put your title as toilet engineer or expert. For some reason, everyone here calls themselves managers... even if they have no one that reports to them.

I agree with baldrick2dogs comments. He's got it pretty much right. But, as experienced CV Writers in the Gulf (14 years now!), and having made quite a few (thousands), I would certainly put in Localization as a big factor. There are certain words and sentences to put in or avoid in respect to the culture and religion in the Middle East.

Also, CV's are increasingly being put in databases, from where they are pulled out for targeted job vacancies using "Keywords". These could be your nationality, gender, age, skills, talents or many other things. So, it would be a good idea to have these placed strategically in a CV.

I'm a Brit and I recruit people. Trust me, it's the same as UK. I'll find out what the guy looks like when he turns up for the interview ... if he's selected based on his CV. I don't give a toss what your religion is so long as you park it outside work. I only need to know about your children if you are asking for schooling. Keep your hobbies to yourself (one guy actually lists web surfing as his hobby - he didn't get interviewed!).

So, make it 2-3 pages, most recent job first, with as much detail on that job as possible. Simple

Well according to my info through many well establised consultants & Companies, make your resume short & on the point of your experience & gulf require a passport size picture on it.

The suggestions given above might work wounders but will be an open invitation to trouble only, go for it if you are ready.

Yes obviously if you will make it like a novel will be a plus because then no one will read it only, your picture will do whatever it need to do. HR of any big or small company dosent have time to read such novels.

Qatar is full of good people but you cant escape the (minor) bad one's.

Yes its better if you add your photo while applying in the Middle East. I personally have never done it but thats because nobody will call me for an interview if they see my ugly face.

Yeah, I pretty much figured that, but I heard somewhere that you have to include a photo on a Qatari CV, which is definitely not the protocol in Britain.

What about civil status, nationality, age, religion etc? Are any of those necessary?
