And I agree with Adey. Your attitude and language here don't reflect piety.

Well hotass you havn't impressed anyone here, so I guess that is why your employers have not been impressed with you either.

If you think western companies value showing your body then I'm sorry but you're an idiot. They value money, cold hard cash and anyone that can make it for them. That's why when you go to London or New York and you see the people in the high paying jobs they could be from anywhere.

Stop blaming your religion or how you dress or the colour of your skin and take a long hard look at yourself first.

Oh, and by the way the Qataris here get the preference for promotions. Shall I complain that I do not get promoted because I do not wear a thobe or are Arab? Oh, what racism!

Give me promotion because I wear the hijab,

I wear the hijab because I am pious,

I am pious and yet bandy around the word "A" hole...????

Maybe your employers can't get their head around the obvious contradiction in that last sentence and see you as playing on your obviously fake religiosity?

In short they see that your sense of entitlement is your stumbling block and far outweighs your actual abilities.

"Deaths in the Bible. God - 2,270,365

not including the victims of Noah's flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, or the

Well it is indeed a fact of life. Some societies have perfected the art of practicing it by adopting so called politically correct manners.

In any case it is there everywhere and only the degree of Racism / Discrimination varies. Find out those who are tolerant though it will extremely difficult but worth the pain.

He is there.

Can offer a few observations.

Firstly, you write like a 10 year old. Coz is not a word. Nor are sik, noe, den, prob, nthn, rong, talkin, n, da, gr8, nowadayz, lemme. If you want to do well at work, you could start by writing like an adult, not a child.

Secondly, you seem very confused about who you are. Born here, of Indian descent, but you list Australian on your profile. What the...? Would it be fair to say you have a conflicted sense of self, torn between different cultures, and that's part of the reason why you blame the hijab/western dress divide on your lack of career growth?

Thirdly, your profile, if it is to be believed, puts your age in the range of 18-25. However you want us to believe that you "have worked in every field". Right. At the age of 25, you've worked in every field. Furthermore, you also refer to your previous places of employment as "every britsh institution or american institution". Just how many places have you worked? Why did you leave? It seems reasonable to conclude that you have no company loyalty if you've been jumping from job to job so often. Perhaps that's why you get overlooked? Perhaps management think you are unreliable?

And if you are simplistic enough to think that people who show flesh don't, by definition, work hard, then you have a lot to learn about the workforce.

Finally, since you seem to be pointing the finger only at American and British institutions who overlook you for promotions, then why not work elsewhere?

my dear,,,there are schools that improve and enhance personality.

and also,,,it seems that you need to brush up on your grammar...there is also a school for that.

if i were you,,,why dont you attend a personality development course followed by a speech power course and then if you really want to step -up on your game,,,get a doctorates degree.

maybe that would help?

hugs....

the truth is that this is a man dominated world my sister and a man whoever he is either muslim / non muslim he likes women who showoff her body. she would be get more attention than in hijab one. you can see everywhere even if a boss is muslim he likes girls in a western dress or showing the parts of her body to get attraction and attention.

we all always talk about this and say this is not good but in real we all are doing the same thing.

I am sure if any girl come in western style or showing off we all give her more attention to that girl instead of the girl who is wearing hijab.

dont worry my sister, it is a sign of Qayamat. if you follow the rules of Islam you will be profited in heaven. Insha Allah

I doubt its got anything to do with the way you dress. In fact, you're more likely to be treated better due to you wearing hijab.

Also, you're being judgmental and a hypocrite by your comments "wats important??? showin your body or hard and professional work???" You can work hard and be professional by wearing western clothes.

.....You are not alone.....

its the prerogative of the individual to whats important, as you say it: ...showin your body or hard and professional work....

....as for me, if u can't take it then leave....

in our company i will be promoted if and only if i wear hijab & convert.... somehow we had compromised as they cant release me (inspite of numerous issuance of resignation) & me not apt to convert (i have worn hijab several times)....

You are relating racism by wearing Hejab; if you were in any other country I would believe you; but the fact that I am too working in Qatar and I see a lot of ladies wearing Hejab and they are treated fairy, then I would recommend that should you look for any other reason. Over and above, if you are sick form wearing the Hejab, then why the %#*% are you still wearing it.

To be honest, I think this thread is full of crap and so are you.

to blame it on the color of your skin or your hijab is the easiest thing. the harder part is to assess your work attitude, and from the sound of your post, errrr... doesn't inspire much confidence, girl.

so, put the blame aside, and work on yourself. remember, work attitude, team player, initiative, interpersonal skills... the whole shabang.
