Secondment Letter (Changing Company)
By kenndale92 •
Hello!
I joined my company 6 months ago and am planning to change company due to reasons I cannot disclose. My company agreed to give me Secondment Letter if ever I find a new company. Now, to my questions..
1.) What exactly is a Secondment Letter?
2.) Is it true that I need to stay at least 1 year in my company (6 months remaining) to be given the Secondment Letter?
I really appreciate further information regarding this matter, advices or experiences to give a better grasp of my situation.
Thank you.
did you get your secondment approved .My new employer telling that one year to be completed with present employer before moving to secondment
thanks for all the responser though the ideas i got isn't cohesive with each other..
Anyway, wild turkey, I also believe it's a legal procedure. But before "lending" and employee to another company, is there no pre-requisites like completing 1 year before switching as what it stated by someone above.
I would appreciate it if you have any reference. Thank you!

A secondment letter has to be certified by the Labor Ministry and allows a company to "lend" an employee to another company for 6 months. It's a perfectly legal procedure.
in qatar law there is no such thing as secondment...according to me its illegal...probably they meant to their sister company with the same sponsor
With a secondment letter the company allows you to work for another company while you are still under their sponsorship.
1. it means release or noc
2. u need to complete 1 year before switching to another job
