Sponsorship Question

Hi all,

I'm a Qatar-born resident (female), and I'm working and living here with my dad. I'm currently under his sponsorship. My dad will resign this year in December and go back to our home country - I have never been to my country.

When I asked my employer to sponsor me, they said I might have to cancel my family visa go back to my country and come back in a new visa. Is that necessary? (I have a work permit with them).

On the other hand, is it possible for me to change my sponsor to any Qatari who will be able to sponsor me - is that legal?

I want to do the right thing and I want to know my options.

Thanks for any advice!

Your father has to give you NOC, then your new sponsor can apply for your work visa.

Honestly, i have seen people with family visa getting a job here in a Qatar with a NOC letter from their current sponsor.

I am not sure. But, from what i have heard you can get a NOC from your sponsor (your father) to transfer sponsorship you your company. Ideally that is the process if you had to work under any company provided you are signing the labor contract with them.

Your dad will not be able to exit Qatar without cancelling your visa first. As such you will be required to leave either prior to his departure or along with him. Your sponsor is right in saying that you will need to exit and then come back on another visa. In your case, I don't think it would be possible for you to transfer to another sponsor without exiting Qatar but wait and see other comments from QLers.
