ANYBODY HERE WHO HAS THE SAME STATUS AS MINE?

Please share your thoughts....any better ideas on how to make positive changes from this NEGATIVE situation???

Thank you :)

If there isn't any good thing that you can say or share PLEASE do not spend time joining any discussion.

If an employer HIRES someone:

HE MUSTHAVE KNOWN IN THE 1ST PLACE THAT THE PERSON HE HIRED IS CAPABLE OF DOING THE JOB HE'S HIRED FOR.

HIRED!

just a thought - you may not agree but that's what i think it is.

Thanks :)

CHILL!

*If you read clearly- why are you so affected.I am the one in difficult situation not you.

*Is that how you deal with such issues? (form of mockery or something)

*Is seeking thoughts and ideas from others a LAME THING TO DO? Maybe not just your thing.

PLEASE DO NOT BE JUDGEMENTAL OF OTHERS AS THAT'S HOW YOU WILL BE JUDGE IN THE END.

Thank you for reading. I am not sure if you are SERIOUS in saying:

GIVE ME UR PHONE NUMBER I WILL CALL YOU.

Chill!

1. dohalife how long have u been in doha ?

2. do you have the contract copy "where it is written that you have to pay to the employer for coming to doha"? any employer taking charges like this is illegal if you have the contract means u have the proof.

3. please for god's sake dont be afraid of the result if u r not satisfied with ur job leave it. or fight for ur rights.

4. if u have not done anything wrong u r supposed to fight "THE ONE WHO ACCEPTS THE PUNISHMENT SILENTLY IS MORE PUNISHABLE THAN WHO GIVES THE PUNISHMENT" as per islam

5. and stop telling ur story like this on qatarliving nobody can help you unless and untill you r ready to help yourself.

NOTE: NOBODY WILL HELP YOU IN DOHA EVEN IF THEY KNOW YOU SO PLEASE STOP GETTING SYMPATHIES IT'S LAME REALLY LAME. GIVE ME UR PHONE NUMBER I WILL CALL YOU.

There may be a so-called Labor Law. But it is not worth the paper it is written on!

By anonymous• 1 Mar 2011 14:32
anonymous

Sending you back to your point of origin is the responsiblity of the employer and that is clearly stated in the labour law as well as fees for visas, RP etc. If they are charging you then they are breaking the law and you could go to court against them.

The employer has spend money getting you into this country. So yes, he will expect returns. Reasonable enough.

However cutting salary and not paying overtime is illegal. You can go to your embassy or the Labour Dept. But I do not think that they will be able to give you justice. Their solution is deportation with or without your dues being paid.

we don't know how bad your situation is, but staying in that company with your so called "evil" employer is part your choice

....there’s always a choice, and that there are more right choices, and not only one. The problem is that we tend to pick the most easy choice.....sometimes we have to learn to take risk.

By dohalife2010• 1 Mar 2011 13:45
dohalife2010

*cuts salary from the original signed contract

*makes staff work more than the regular working hours (no OT pay)

*makes staff feel incapable of the position she/he's assigned to

*too much "gir gir"

*believes mostly on "HEARSAYS"

*says staff never performs well even when a staff is doing his/her best

Are these enough yet? :(

By ecabs• 1 Mar 2011 12:38

you should make us understand what your employer did to you that makes him evil.

You are not the only one. Labour court is a joke as is NHRC. Embassies don't want to upset the balance and never take any strong stance. If you are stuck here, you are stuck. That's it.

Just pray that they let you go, that's the only option.

Somebody advised me when i am upset at my boss, just imagine that he has this funny face---u can make your imagination run wild ;-)

so u will start laughing and be in a happy mood then return to work with a light mood :-)

thanks and i found out that m the only one who has this kind of trouble.

still good to know that not much of EVIL EMPLOYERS here in DOHA :)

just sad that I got ONE now :(

By alias123• 1 Mar 2011 11:26
alias123

Thats the sad thing.

you can't do anything about it buddy.

everything you got treated badly, just think of your loan and the money you will pay if you choose to leave.

By dohalife2010• 1 Mar 2011 11:20
dohalife2010

*on the contract it is stated that for a certain period a staff must pay some money equivalent to what has been used by the company to hire them, cost of tickets, recruitment fees etc.

this is the sad part, reason why people stay in their jobs.

By dohalife2010• 1 Mar 2011 11:17
dohalife2010

if you were to pay them instead of you being paid?would you choose to leave ASAP?

before i came here i have already applied for loans to get a job here.

so for me to leave, i should pay again? that's what keeps me "stuck"

By alias123• 1 Mar 2011 11:08
alias123

you always have the choice to leave.

you got stuck there because its your choice.

Ok, the best thing you would do is go directly to the Qatar Labour Office and file a complain.

If you want fast action go directly there....

What do they want you to pay for?

By Neytiri• 1 Mar 2011 10:51

Dohalife - you can use the services of the Labour Court here. Isnt that why they are here? to help people like you? Give it a try.

By dohalife2010• 1 Mar 2011 10:50
dohalife2010

People come here to work and earn but on the other side people who meets EVIL EMPLOYER makes the workers PAY THEM instead.

*in the long run EVIL EMPLOYERS get more money from their staff instead of the staff earning money for themselves.

dohalife2010

did that and was told to wait til employer decides to send me home/employer will send me HOME if i pay them.

- afraid that employer would do more EVIL things to me-

if they find out i will still seek help from my embassy:(

- employer has a habit of sending people to home country and making them pay:(

- i do not want to pay them - m already on the losing end and it's too much.

No one is stuck anywhere unless its where they want to be. You have the option of quitting your job and if goodwill prevails you may get a release and get another job here or you have the option of leaving Doha and going back to your country.

We all have choices. Which one we make is entirely upto us.
