hi,

i have recieved a job offer for a contract job. The employer has sent me a work visa however i am not interested in joining them. An old company with whom i had an interview a long time back has approached me again. They r now asking me to submit them educational documents etc so that they can apply for visa for me. I have not flied to Qatar yet. Can anybody inform me 1. if i say no to the new employer, how long does it take for the employer to cancel the visa? 2. If the employer dont cancel the visa by themselves what r my options in that regard? 3. Can i face any repurcussions from the employer like a ban etc. Please note again i have never worked in Qatar before.

thanks da_ruru & gene. I have another question.

I have come to know that now anybody who gets a job offer in Qatar, must get his final educational documents attested from the relevant Qatari embassy in the country of origin. Is it true for all professions or are there any exceptions?

It is entirely the discretion of the company who applied for it.

thanks for ur advice, both. Is is ok if I tell my new employer about a previous entry visa issued for me? Can they do something to get it cancelled OR is it entirely at the discretion of the company who issued it?

@gene...very well explained.

It is not the actual work visa but an entry visa for a work visa application sponsored by the company. There are no repercussions except that as what gene had said, if the company does not cancel it you need to wait until it expires.

Remember to choose wisely because after the actual work visa has been issued to you the 2 year ban will be in effect without an NOC from your company if you plan to transfer to another company.

Your old company can not provide you a new visa because you were already issued one. The only way is to ask the new company that provided you with visa to cancel the visa they issued which I doubt if they will. Otherwise, wait for 6 months after your visa was issued. It will automatically cancel if you will not use if after 6 months.
