Working as a nurse in Qatar, from Australia
Hi guys! I'm very excited to be heading to Qatar from Brisbane Australia, in the next 12 weeks. We are going to be coming on a family visit visa initially and hopefully my husband should get permanent residency after 6 months. I am a registered Nurse here in Australia and I am wondering if I should go through the application process with the Supreme Council of Health to work as a nurse in Qatar before I arrive, or wait until my children and I get our permanent residency visa. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? Regards, Louise
it is very unwise and really will be regretful about coming from australia to qatar. in my opinion, i would rather live by a very minimum salary in australia than living with high salaries here in this hell. i guess if you have a chance, go live in dubai or Abu dhabi instead, it's much better than qatar.
Not limited to Pinoy or Kara lite nurses although I would guess those 2 nationalities are the majority

@ Mary, Asia means, is it Indians ( Keralites ) and Philippinos only ?
Thanks for your responses! I am hoping that as a psychiatric nurse I may be able to get a counselling position in an International School or some other organisation. It's good to hear that I can apply when I get there. Do you think I should get all my degree and registration documents notarised? Including my subject scores at university or just the bachelor degree certificate?
I would suggest you do some research on nurses' salaries in Qatar. Many of the positions are held by people from Asia who, while they have the necessary qualifications, are often willing to accept lower salaries.
It would be best to get hired from there. Time will not be in favor of you if land here with temporary visas. Don't worry, Supreme Council's process will be favorable for you and your family's future.
