World Cup Fanzone at The Torch Doha a success
The Torch Doha will be hosting football fans for World Cup 2014 finals at the dedicated Fanzone located behind Aspire Printing Press.
The Fanzone provided a spectacular viewing atmosphere which proved to attract 1,500 spectators for matches during the World Cup initial stages and 2,000 for the semifinal matches.
The setup features a unique open-air cooling technology developed for training pitches and spectator walkways.
Games are shown on 4 giant HD screens with state-of-the-art sound and lighting while food services are provided by The Torch Doha.
The Fanzone is the size of a full scale football pitch, with its interior designed in line with traditional Qatari heritage including Majlis seated areas and cooled to an approximate temperature of 21 degrees Celsius.
The enclosure is astatically pleasing, hosting different branding strategies, thus presenting spectators with a real football stadium experience.
“It gives us a great pleasure to organise the venue and be the chosen catering supplier. It is exciting to witness a premiere cooling technology put in place for large sporting events," said Wael Al Sharif, Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food & Beverage.
"Football fans along with families and friends can enjoy great food in a cooled, modern open-air environment,” he added.
The totally open roof enclosure is aerodynamically designed to protect its occupants against different external weather conditions. T
he enclosure perimeter is installed with different cooled air distribution mechanisms, featuring lower jet delivery and upper jet delivery, a system which proved to receive positive feedback to date.
