Sherborne Qatar is the only overseas school developed by an historic and distinguished British school founded in 1550 under a royal charter.
Their ethos, outlook and standards are monitored from Sherborne Dorset, which also provides a considerable educational input, both pastoral and academic, into the school.
Sherborne Qatar has two schools: the Preparatory School (Pre-school - Year 6) and the Senior School (Year 7 - Upper Sixth).
They cater for two separate constituencies: the international community drawn from across the whole world, whose skills and expertise are currently needed in the development of Qatar, and the local community who are keen to provide their children with the best education possible.
Sherborne Qatar is a member of Qatar's Supreme Education Council's Outstanding Schools Programme.
The School is accredited by the Department for Education as a British School Overseas (BSO). It is an accredited member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME).
They provide a rich educational experience which focuses on the intellectual, the creative, the emotional and the practical talents of each pupil. Their goal is to ensure that pupils learn the value of kindness, respect, manners, concern for others and service to the community.
They teach an enriched curriculum that is closely based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales up to Year 9. In Years 10 and 11, they prepare pupils for public examinations in a broad range of subjects and they sit either IGCSE or GCSE papers set by the Cambridge International Examinations Board (CIE), AQA or Edexcel.
