Are house rents going up again ?
Recently I finished lease contract for the flat I live in which is a Fully furnished apartment and instead of renewing it, I wished I could move to a unfurnished apartment and furnish it of my own. Last year I heard rents were going down and a 2-B/R unfurnished apartment was easily available for 4500/month, but for now the past 2-3 months, while I searched all the places in mansoura and muntaza, i never ever had any chance to see any 2-B/R flat below 5500/month. One of my friend leaving Doha for good and the flat he leaves behind, he paid 5000/month, while approached the Owner, he said he won't transfer the lease on same rent, pay 500 extra now, that means the same flat my friend lived and paid 5000 now I had to pay 5500/month. The owner says this is the current market rate, take it of 100's takers are there. I gave up and had to stay were i m staying now. Dreams shattered.
It's the beginning of the school year (September). Many tenants will be moving or looking for new places now. So the demand is high, and rents are up.
Wait for a couple of months for prices to stabilise.
Search and yee shall find my friend - they are out there - contact a good realtor (thats one that DOESNT scam you out of commission) and they will put enough good deals in front of you - yo just have to be a bit proactive ........ as I was!!
Sorry that was to Chairboy
Hi I am new to Qatar, can you please give me any advice on villas as I am looking for one for the same amount you paid. Any help much appreciated.
Yes.....up up & up
Only if you believe the rumours put around in the press by unscrupulous landlords and the vultures that are Realtors (I swear - 2 weeks commission and for what, unlocking the front door of a vacant premises?? - DONT PAY THEM - there is no written contratc between you - beat them down and then down again - parasites) - I have just moved into a 6 bed villa for 10 grand a month (negotiated) in a nice part of town - used to be 14K - go figure!!!
Yes, they are going up. Check out this article:

It does not call a boost for landlords because if any landlord at the time of renewing the contract demands more rent then we can immediately contact to RENT DISPUTE DEPT which is near to al muntaza street, the rents are still same,no increasment,we all have the rights to file a case against landlords if they are demanding more rent, still law about the rent is same,if it gets change then we can get info through media
'coz immigration is at its peak this time of year also lot of commercial and industrial projects are bumping up but less residential or real estate investment !! infrastructure will increase the rent costs as well wait for the metro circuits covered zones in the coming few years and you'll see
Don't post this kind of info here its a boost for landlords to further increase rent...
