Hi there, I'm going to Doha-Qatar in the end of November 2008 and I've never been to Gulf Country before. Could you tell me about the condition around there & what should I bring if I come there. Thank you

Silvia, welcome to Doha, Qatar.
By the time you are coming into the country "winter season" is here so bring in appropiate clothing to face temperatures ranging from 10 to 28 degrees, and some days with cold breeze and even cloudy/rainy, thus making it colder.
As per food, here you find almost anything.
Traffic is OK now but at times there is "jam" all over the city.
Malls, supermarkets, theater, cinemas, shops, car dealers, fast food, restaurants, taxis and busses for public transportation are available.
Schools are a variety here, with many options, but sometimes is difficult to find a "place/spot" for kids. Nevertheless go ahead...welcome!!.
Maybe by contacting your fellow country people, already in the country you will have a better idea as what to bring in and what not. And the main thing is bring in all your energies to work and enjoy...as much as you can.
I once was in the same situation where you're at now...

Well, Qatar is a nice place... it really is... unfortunately after 15 mos of working in Qatar I had to leave and transfer for work because my company in Qatar wasn't the one I was dreaming of... but don't you worry, like in any other place, there are still a lot of good companies in Doha... nevertheless, I am still looking forward to go back to Doha anytime soon... even for a vacation or work, if I could find a much better offer, though I am at a good company now in Dubai and I'm happy to be here... GOD id good!
