Being gay in Qatar?

I love the middle east. The culture, the language etc. And i'm planning to travel to Qatar sometime in the next year. I'm also gay, I don't think this would be a problem since I am very straight-looking, But I was looking for some clarification, I understand that homosexual acts are illegal in Qatar, is it still illegal if you are openly gay, but celibate? Or is identifying as gay illegal as well.

Thanks!

Apart from it being against our religion, in Qatar, it is also seen as shameful and dishonoured to be gay. As much as I hate to admit it, you might want to consider the fact that the retarded Qatari loners here like to pick on gay people. I would not say stop being gay, just try to act straight in public. If you want any more advices about Qatar just contact me, I'm sure I will be able to help :)

Other than it is against our religion, it is also seen as shameful and dishonoured in our culture. As much as I hate to say this, but being gay make you a target to be picked on. Just try to act straight and hopefully you won't get any retarded loners picking on you. Contact me if you want any other advice about Qatar :)

Get ready for the lashes.

God has created only two sex "Man" & "Woman".

The 3rd, as you said is human-made.

Dont be wrong. They are not only discouraged to advertise themself here in Middle East, but also in Asia, Europe & Americas too.

Don't worry...too much gays here, locals or expats alike (LOL) You don't have to announce that you are gay upon your arrival anyway. BTW, some here act and look totally gay. However, it pays to be discreet.

I wouldn't say I was advertising my sexuality. I was looking for a clarification on a specific law.

As you know all about the matter. It's not only illegal but immoral as well, Why you are advertising it here.

I have never dressed like a woman, and I never will. I also don't sway when I walk, and honestly, I have never met a gay person that sways.

Just don't wear woman dress...In public walk like a man not swaying...

Being openly gay in the Middle East is definitely not ok.

You wish to come here, I strongly advise you to keep your deviant practices behind.

Qatar is a conservative Muslim country that does not tolerate deviancy.

you can be what you are but the most important thing is not to show it on public..that sit.
