Budget Advice Needed - Please help

Hi,

I have a family of 4 that I am wondering whether to relocate to Doha, from Canada. I have a job offer that fully pays housing (ie villa provided), fully pays childrens education, one ticket per year to Canada, transport allowance, etc. Total package is around $27-28K QAR per month. But please dont focus on the income.....

What I need your help with is........

I'm trying to figure out what we'll spend per month. Here's a bit about us:

We are muslim, dont drink at all, but we are big spenders on groceries, food, etc. We like to eat out a lot, do have a somewhat expensive taste when it comes to vehicles. So I have budgeted 200K QAR for 2 vehicles (100K each). We do like to travel, and are definitely not conservative spenders. In my budgeting I'm trying to be realistic and aiming high!!

Could someone PLEASE PLEASE take a look at the attached spreadsheet and let me know where the numbers look realistic and where I might be wrong??? This feedback is very important to me, thank you,

"eating out"part.. since you are "not conservative spenders", you won't go to the cheap places like buffet for QR 50-70 per person... so be prepared for about QR 3000 a month for 3-5 times of eating out...

other than that seems pretty reasonable..

and yes, for 100K you will have a pretty standard car, nothing really fancy.. if you want a better car, be ready for at least 150 K per car.

and you said "$27-28K QAR per month."... lol.. yeah, it took me a while till I stoped saying Dollars meaning Riyals...

good luck and easy relocation to you and your family!!

Yur budget looks realistic and practical expect to the eating out figure.. you may need to incease it up as in any case for family of 4. so add 2000 QAR to it.

for social activity think of increasing it by at least 500 more. so you should have a practical budget of QAR 17500 in total for a normal month.

cell/cable/ - depends on the usage.. for basic usage its fine what u have projected..

cheers.

well the Groceries part seems fine....

Eating Out: it really depends on where you eat. however 1000 doesn't seem reasonable. Maybe 3-4K.

Misc: totally dependant

landline...etc: ok

water..: ok

cellphone: depends on how much you talk and where.

car payments seems ok however, for 100k per car you shouldn't be expecting something  posh.

for the rest then ok...

In general your package seems fine. What industry are you in?
