Can anyone tell me the charge by the traffic department (fee) to change the ownership of a used vehicle? (To change the istimara into another person's name) and does anyone know the rule like who has to pay the fee. the buyer or seller?
I just registered my car a few days ago and had to pay 300 QR altogether. 100 for transfer and 200 for registration.
I don't think there is a rule, but in my opinion, common sense would dictate that the new owner pays, as the car is now his/hers.
By the way, if this is the first time you are registering a car in your name in Qatar, you also need a letter from your sponsor saying they have no objections to you owning a car and a copy of their computer registration.
My friend, there is no rule on this.usually the new owner pays as far as i heard...but for sure its up to negotiation. BTW do not forget ! you should pay via card(debit, visa, master...)no cash is acceptable...

i have done it several times for QR.100/- for our company; it's not on nego. and yeah, always by credit card...no cash.
