Hi....I am new member in this forum. I want to get info/feedback before moving to Qatar maybe on this coming January. I have got an offer basic+allowance QR7850 per month with accomondation provided by company(or QR8500 per month if they can't provide accomondation)
Beside that, education fee for my daughters are paid by company.

Can I know, how much in Qatar riyal equivalent to 150 kilos air frieght mobilization allowance?

Can I survive in Qatar with this salary package?

Thank you!

he's saying he's getting

salary AND 7800 worth of allowance AND housing.

If so, that's enough for sure!

However I find it odd that they'll only give you 1k more if they can't provide accommodation. It'll still be enough for something but not something great.

Friend,

Doha is a very difficult place to survive, especially if you are here to enjoy your life. With the given salary, you could survive if you are bachelor. Take 3 K for housing (single bedroom, apartment sharing)and control your spending, then you can go on. If you are married and with family of two small children, you wallet requires at least 8K housing plus another 3-4K living expenses (take care of the saving). Say, your children goes to school, school costs itself may extend to 2K month.

Let us say, a family man without housing minimum 18-20K.

Bachelor without housing 10-12K.

Still, think again before coming! The other part may not be so green!

Don't take the company accomodation if it's not subsidized. Ask them for 7850+8500 QR. You can rent a normal semi furnished flat for about 4K-5K.The remaining should be sufficient for the month if the education is taken care of by the company. You can even expect a little saving by the month end.

Cheers!

For the first time I am learning about such a salary package!

HRA is more than total of Basic+other allowances!

Lucky you! Thanks to Qatar economy!

The salary u stated is enough to survive and earn. But it depends on you, ambitions, goals etc. I would suggest you to check the accomodation company is offering you as fist step. If it is enough for you & your family go for it. Incase it is of inferior nature, go for the 8500 per month allowance. You can easly find out a 2 b/r house for 6000-7000 QR per month.

I guess your's is a managerial post. Why not demand a better package?

Good luck to you!

dont go for accomodation at your own, it will eat your salary,

better to stick with co. accomodation. then if you have normal lifestyle, i mean average then this is quite ok.

all the best and welcome to doha

But only if you make sure the company provides you family accomodation, as I saw you have daughters, so if you should pay accomodation of your own, that would cost you at least 7000QR or more (two-bedroom). But if accomodation and school fees are arranged, than you can survive and save even.

we do with little more and we are a family of four, and still, we manage to save some money.

As long as decent accommodation is provided and school fees are taken care of, then you should be able to manage... And eat well every now and then.

Accomodation provided you may survive but you cannot save, but without accomodation 8500 riyals is peanuts....

with one shot got two...lucky me

Is too low If you want my opinion.

Cost of living per month will probably wipe half of your money. Rentals for apartment will cost you around 3000 to 60000 every month, not including utilities or furnishing of the house.

As long your company WILL PROVIDE YOUR HOUSING, THEN YOU WILL BE SORT OF OK... You just moved your diet to HAMBURGER AND CHIPS BUT NO STEAK yet.

yap, you could survive on tuna fish and potatoes chips, but no steak or chicken on that salary. Novita, just tell him completely the truth of Doha! and amihamus could be walking to the bus stop lots of time, and is going to be a long time before you collect enough dove to purchase a decent car.

depend on your life style ... but defenitely u cant survive if you pay the accomodation your own. To rent a room will cost you at least QR 3000 and above.
