Hello Everyone,

Now before you read any further, please note this issue I have is serious, so please no sarcastic or nasty comments, I really cant take them.

I have had an issue with an old landlord of mine, he actually opened a court case against me 2 years ago, I have tryed to negotiate and contact him since then, however recieved no response, for the past 1 YEAR I have been going to the courts to try and solve the issue, however they have lost my file, for 01 year the file has been missing, for 01 year I am unable to leave Qatar due to the Travel Ban... I have no idea what to do, no one at the court knows what to do either...
My Embassy also cannot assist, I just seem to be banging my head against a brick wall, since this issue I have been unable to attend the funeral of my Father along with other important family matters back home, I have not advised my family either of the issue as I do not want them all to worry.

How the hell can this be resolved?
I am so stressed, and Nervous and really cant take much more, any helpful comments are appreciated.

Thanks

This is really hard man, in my opinion you can do 2 things :

1- hire a lawyer if you can afford it, and if not, i think there are many members here can help you financially to do that, helping a fellow human..

2- Knock his door , company or home, check if you know anyone who has contacts with police friends, then you can take him to court, telling them that you are trying to contact him , to settle your debt , but he is not answering you.

Hope your problem is solved asap

Please contact the rental dispute committee with the help of your embassy. They will surely be able to help you resolve this issue. If you cannot afford a lawyer, your embassy PRO will be surely able to help you.

This is the only solution you have of getting your travel ban lifted.

Can understand your feelings. I would suggest,

1. Take up the issue with the country's Human Rights Commission.

2. Escalate the issue to higher up official or even concerned Minister of your embassy.

3. Periodically keep your issue live by approaching a reputable media to highlight your issues.

Wishing an early end to all your hassles.

As many here already said, the best way is to hire a solicitor (lawyer).

Good luck.

I fell sorry for what happened to you.

I come to think that your respective embassy must be the first one who will give you a full assistance with your problem. I cannot understand why they cannot help you.

The best thing you can do is a Hire a lawyer. that's the only way to get out from your situation.

JJJ7S I dont think you read my post fully...

I have tryed to contact the landlord personally, via his office, registered letters, emails, phone calls and been ignored...

This is why I have asked the members of QL if they have any further advice...

Pay the back rent and ask for the travel ban to be lifted

Why did he do it?

I was made redundant from my job back then, I could not afford to pay the rent, the landlord would not allow me to break the contract, therefore I had no choice but to leave the villa, and not pay the rent...

no win situation

The question is why did he do this in the first place.

Also, I would think about hiring a lawyer.
