Car price is going down!

I say the car prices is going down. HOLD ON TO YOUR WALLETS!!

Right now the metal price is seeing its lowest point. The price of this comodity has been in increase nearly 10 year. Now its price just 35% of what was six months ago.

Oil prices is also has seen its lowest over many years. This is translated to lower shipping cost.

Other raw materials (such as plastics) is also lower with the exception gold. But gold is not a main cost driver in cars as it is in electronics.

Loans is also harder to get.

All of the above translate to LOWER CAR PRICE. So hold on to your wallets until the car dealers here accept that reality. I know that many people here have a lot of money, but why should we pay more that what it is really worth?

I dont think this will happen...the company may close down but prices cannot go down because they are at their minimum here because of competition.

If there was a monopoly of only one car company then he would have been able to lower car price to sell more.

Here there are a huge variety of classes for each company. like the 1Ltr, 1.6Ltr, 1.8Ltr, 2Ltr, 4Ltr, 6Ltr, sports coupe, 4x4, etc. so even a 10% reduction in the price would become invisible in a sea of cars.

The companies also produce the cars as per the forecasted demand....Toyota already cut production by 25% I guess it will have to cut production up to 60 to 70% because of the effect of the recession in the Gulf.

They may make smaller cars...with lesser options ....But the prices definately will not go down.

If this is true, then I'll expect more heavy traffics in Doha roads.

This obviously is just an invitation for people to form a mutiny against car dealers, the reason why prices don't go down (and they never will) is that people will keep needing to buy new cars just like they keep needing to buy food. So any car dealer who cuts down his prices would be an idiot or a charity tycoon (if that's a valid metaphore :D)

Bottomline is, choose the car you would like to drive for the next 5 years, buy it, and take care of it and keep it clean and working. The price you pay is not and will never be your choice

Or just buy a used car and pray it will complete one year without too much trouble...

Would somebody please kindly inform this unfortunate

that there is a MONOPOLY on cars and car parts here in Qatar. Steel prices?! I can tell you the dealership owners are getting a chuckle from that one. They might give you a 500 QR discount just for amusing them. Its your right to keep on dreaming so be my guest!

Was talking to my mom last night and she told me there's a new car promotion in Germany; if you wish to buy an SUV, you'll get a saloon for free! But I don't know if its true. :P
