ranjit,

i think u r mixing 2 different points here.

1. please dont even get into the trap of converting ur salary to INR -- it will fetch u no good at all. INR 35L/annum sounds very very handsome to an Indian in India ... but remember u will earn in QAR and spend in QAR -- and there u cant compare-- with ur calculation/comparison -- u will always be tempted to shift to Qatar.

2. if ur salary is QAR 18K/month : u need to actually check on the facts that how much u will spend and how much u will save with ur family around.

probably u need to check on the following and then decide:

1. Accomodation : 1-2bhk

2. Food :

3. School:

4. Utilities :electricity and water

5. Communication : internet, phone, calling cards etc.

6. transportation: own car /rented car/ public transport

what i know is there is surely a good potential to save in this amount if you plan ur living in qatar.

i am sure those experienced and staying in Qatar - in this forum shall be able to give u better guidance.

Thanks to this forum for addressing my query. One thing I would like to bring in your notice that my Current CTC - 16 lacs, If I am getting any offer in India itself for a job change I may get 18-20 lacs offer. My current tax liability is 1 lac & on the CTC of 20 lacs it may reach upto 2 lacs.

I shall come to Qatar with Family If comes. Pls. re-evaluate my offer of 30 lacs plus accomodation and all which I have written in my first communication and let me know. WHat to do?

Regards,

BB...nah, no pressure points get created when you do it by choice...:)

And the last part is deemed to be agreed but then while we ourselves accept that and continue to stay here, it wouldn't be approprite to advice otherwise to someone else...:)

Lol Prism... all I know is that you are not ready to mingle... and that is creating lot of pressure "points" lol

Ok he will make an extra QR 7,800 per month to stay in Jail.

Please also comment on ... "worst thing is you will never be able to shift to another company..."

If I am understanding right and keeping tax free salary in view (subject to qualifying as an NRI) he is almost getting a 100% jump (Rs. 20 lacs- 33% IT= approx. 13.5 lacs as compared to Rs. 25- 30 lacs tax free + other add ons). Education for kids, if any, needs to be adjusted though. House rent looks to be ok to find a decent place.

@ BB...not entirely true ...."If you stay single (but not ready to mingle) you will be able to save about 15,000 but you will feel like in a jail and be bored to hell... .... "....I am living example to the contrary...:)

The difference I see is very small... for QR18,000 per month... there will be no growth here... expect to stagnate ... worst thing is you will never be able to shift to another company... to get driving licence you will need approval letter from your boss... if he feels "not in the mood to give you one for water ever reason" you not get Driving Licence.

If you stay single (but not ready to mingle) you will be able to save about 15,000 but you will feel like in a jail and be bored to hell... .... and you will be bared from entering Malls on Fridays, etc.... if you stay single and ready to mingle expect to still save around QR 10,000 ... while if with family you will be able to save only 5,000 per month.

And I hope you will take the Company accommodation rather than fall for the carrot of QR80,000 which will be good for 16 months' house rent only.

The Income Tax thingy in India indirectly helps to invest more in tax free investments... or other sources of income.

There is no income tax here in Qatar so gain is good.

You may well accept the offer.
