It seems an agent often charges a prospective tenant around 4% of yearly rental value for nothing?
Does anyone know of an agency who does not charge commission to tenant? Or, if he does charge it he should do all the required work :)

You are absolutely right, there are some real rip-off merchants working in the real estate business here in Qatar. Personal recommendation is the way forward; if you know someone who has moved recently, ask them what their experience was and who they used.

Also, there are 2 companies with the word 'Professional' in their name. Be very careful as only one of them truly is professional. You can relax if you are being helped by either Paula or Mandy, as for the other bunch.....

atleast the agent taking commission shud help the tenant in getting the agreement registered and utilities connected....not asking him to carry the refrigerator!!!!
