It depends on traffic and where in Wakrah the office is. I wouldn't say more than 5 - 10 min... they aren't that far apart.

I live in Wakrah, but work in Bin Omran (Doha) - takes me about 25 - 40 min to work and back - traffic dependant.

Xena, thank u for the info.any idea how far these places are from each other? in terms of morning traffic? i just visited the website..may be i will email them an inquiry to find out more details...any suggestions for appartments in wakrah itself...?

ohh ok thanx for the info...i hav heard that qatar is booming.when it comes to dubai u cant say the same...here everyday there are new rumours and you cant believe whts being said on the news...well may be i will give it a shot..lets see...if i get a studio for 2000 then i shud be able to manage...how important is it to visit the doha office before i give a commitment to them?

If you are looking for something in Wakrah, what about going on to Ezdan website and trying to find one of their flats in Wukair which is a new area of Wakrah.

They rent 1/2/3 bedroom flats for between 3 - 6 K amonth fully furnished with Wifi included. Depending on which size flat you take, you will also pay a one off electricity/water fee - for a 1b/r you pay 1.8k. You will also get 6 months free rent - I think its first month free and 5 months at the end of your contract - the contracts are about 18mnths.

The flats are nice, modern with everything you need.

Hope this helps

Doha is expensive from 2006 Asiad. still booming. they hav got the 2022 cup and yet to finish USD 100 Billion projects before 2020. May be within an year span doha is going to be the centrepoint in gulf.I am staying in Barwa Village 1BHK, Wakra paying 3000++ unfurnished. You will get a studio unfurnished in Wakra easily for QR 2000. Brgds/Raj.

hi dear, I am raj here. I was in dubai (Burdubai) 2005 to 2008, i know Dubai that time well. That time rent was too high, I was staying with my family there. But things been changed there since last 2 years.  Better to be here in doha for future and for your career enhancement, but to join a reputed firm. All the best, Raj.

arshad124, the company is a private firm...

zuzo,my present job has required me to travel twice to doha last year...but botht times it was a short stay and i stayed i think at the doha palace hotel which was just ok...my interview was over the fone and i havent visited the offc..how important is it to check out the offc?

my office is located at wakrah, so i plan to stay somewhr close..so are there studios available there for 2000qr?i hav been searching for accomodation online and it seems there arent much studios available...do reply...thanx

Is the company located in Wakrah or u are planning to live there only, because it differs as wakrah is bit far from Doha.

....i m not aware of ur line of work, but generally speaking, comparing Doha with Dubai... the ease or convinience of food and studio and 1 bhk is not the same here... going forward how the inflation take its trajectory -- not sure, but in Dubai, lot of things have stabalised.... i m sure u must be taking a well informed decision... did u visit Doha ...? or was ur interview totally on phone ... if u have not visited doha, i would request you to do so...

HI zuzo, well the growth prospects later on for me would be better. as of now i am changing my line of work..if i set a target of 2 years in doha and then head back to dubai then i myt have a better growth when i get back here...thank u for that honest comment...i still have 2 weeks to decide. Dubai is good, but chances of landing in a good job is less now.i have been here for 3 years and the market is not good as it used to be...but inflation in qatar i agree myt be higher..if i was aiming at just 2 years, whts your opinion?

By zuzo• 4 Jul 2011 22:02
zuzo

not worth the change for just 3000 extra. nothing compared to Dubai... here things are not that economical as opposed to the thought... i was in Dubai.. and i believe that Dubai is now much better, as compared to what it used to be.. but again.. compare the prospects when u change the job, what are the growth prospects... keep bear in mind.. the cost of living is going to increase... and rate of inflation will be much higher than dubai..

@arshad124 mate sorry again but i cant mention it....and whts the company name got to do with this salary?

@flyingace: i make arround 9K here in dubai...this job pays more but i hav heard its quite costly there...my lifesytle is more or less simple.

i pay arround  1500 for a studio here..so how much would a studio cost there? the place is called wakrah i think..wht abt utilitiy bills and hotel expenses?

thanks again for your reply.

well the salary seem to be good, but if you are bring your family then house of 2BK without furnish and good lcoation would not cost you less then 4000 qr. then furnuiture and basic requirement that shall shoot upto 10K. So indirect 5k per month would be the rent. then car if you go for high end car apprx starting from 100000 to 123000 then monthy EMI would be between 4000 to 4500. then food and other expensies..Now it is totallly depend on how you spend it dude.

According to me it good salary. But spend wisely and save for your further.

Firstly it depends on your Life Style, and then If you are getting more then 12000QAR, in Dubai then better off to stay there... The desicion is all yours...
