My old Qatari friends remember pilgrimage to Mecca when Muslims from India landed in Dubai or Doha and started to walk to Mecca. Safest thing was to stop the lorry (yes. lorry!) load of Qatari Pilgrims about 200M away and give water and food to these poor people who would otherwise die! Surely there is a better method to reward good Muslims to perform Hajj and Umrah?
