as u said its one of the resturents in W hotel which is 5 star property and the standard is hight so definatly accomodation will be good along with the hotel and walking distance to city centre doha so if any day u will have u can go there walking , and as per my knowledge the tips are well enough also per month which will be almost 300 to 500 usd per month , so my suggestion go ahead and we welcome u in Qatar .

Well, and you need to note that there's no tax here. so whatever you are getting will go to your pocket. Just compair what you are getting now and how much you are saving.

Also, hotel industry is hit by current recession. That's not case in Qatar so to say hotel industry in qatar is less affected by the recession.

Salut!

the salary is typical of the hotel industry, try to negotiate it up to around 3000QR and check on what tips you would get if any, the accomodation they are offering (sharing? how many per room? nationality they will put you with, facilities such as internet etc..). The food they offer will probably be cafeteria food not five star food ;)It is also good to know about the nationalities of your co-workers to see if you can adjust to the environment.

What they are offering should be enough to save some money, it is upto you to decide whether it is worth leaving your country or not for the salary offered. If your looking for a better salary look outside the hotel industry ;)

Hope I didnt make you more confused :D

Yup, that's what i think. But the money she's getting is gud. Think that all other luxuries available to GM won't be available to hostess, right? As per the job, dat's she prefer.

Hiya guys

I saw another post where she was asking about W Hotel village or something along those lines so maybe that is where she has been offered the job....

You will be sharing a room with 3-6 other pinos. Living like a cockroach as we say. You get sick of the same food day in day out. Work like a slave and treated like 3rd class citizen. Always looked down on by the locals who are to lazy to wipe even their own asses, but if you have nothing, what can one say, come and try, discipline yourself to save money, and keep a straight face with the locals,, and remember one last rule. (whet you serve the locals) It is best to keep your mouth shut and we all thing you are stupid, then open it and remove all doubt.

Power to the non believers, it’s a great feeling to have and hold.

Listen to Dracula..

Housing, transportation and meals may be free, BUT..

You probably have to send money home and also have enough for some luxuries for yourself.

What you don't want is to come here and then find that you are depressed because you can't make ends meet ..

Hello... yes she will get three meals a day, and accomodation which will probably be one room that she has to share with someone... its not gonna be a flat for her on her own or something like that... you think she is gonna enjoy eating the same food from the same place day in day out.. dont you think she is gonna want to change some times. and as for transport - what ? she gonna have a car... all it means is they will pick her up from the accomodation and take her to work and then bring her back... anywhere else she wants to go she will need to arrnage herself and wait for it ......PAY !!! - so those who think she is on a good deal - think again...

I am surprised that people are not aware about the private market in Qatar and about the working styles in the restaurants. You consider only authentic opinion.

Go ahead with the offer if the restaurant is good and well-known. The salary offered is above average salary for your industry in Qatar.

Check quality of accomodation. Salary is not too very tempting, so try to bargain too but most important is quality of accomodation as many employers tend to provide a stinky place for stay. Also, check possibility of tips....in some places that's lot of money.

Not sure if part time employement would be legal, so don't count on that!

Think as she has almost nothing to spend after getting such facilities from that restaurant

she doesn't have to pay for ROOM RENT, 3 MEALS A DAY & Transportation. What else we need. Room rents are extremely high & meals are also getting little expensive while transportation was always costly in past too.

.

So she is saving almost the full amount adn she can remit back to her native country or save it for her future.

.

We all can do the MATH
