In general they are treated nicely. I always used to work with Qatari ppl & they all treated me very well with lots of respect. I'll narrate just one experience:

In one of my previous jobs 6 Qatari ladies were my assistants 2 of them were financially not very strong but when I resigned due to some injustice happened to me all of them came to me & were about to resign when I stopped them. This kind of respect was not even given to me by my Pakistani counterparts but I was very touched & I always pray for them & will remember their gesture for me.

Regarding this second class thing this is very clear that the nationals of any country are the first class citizen & expatriates / immigrants are scond class which is not something to be frowned upon. Keep doing the good job & you would automatically earn respect :) cheers :)

So Qfez all the time while answers were being posted u was watching as a silent spectator, Are u pakistani that u r worried about , and if u r then where was ur Pakistan hood while Maniac Luckyjinx and Ravidixit Indians where spiting their hatred against Pakistanis.

When u know that ur questions is not being answered the way u want then at least move ur freezed hands and warm up ur brain that ur country is being criticized due to ur unclear question.

And Luckyjinx and Ravidixit Lay off.

Dear Bro:

Remember one thing when you are outside your country, you will be treated as second class citizen in all our world. We should respect the country and its people where we are going to live or living. Unfortunately, our country didn't do anything that whole world treat us as first class citizen.

We should think over it. It is all depends on us, we should work hard and be loyal to our responsibilities. If you do like this, you will be honored everywhere.

Still there is a long way to go...........

"Bro Pakistanis treated in qatar very well in my point of view qatari nationals giving very much respect to Pakistanis." Why? HA HA I pass this ball to Some Qatari Bro.

Thanks for your answers everyone. the reason I am asking, is because in the UAE I have been told by many people that Pakistani's get treated like second class citizens.

I have heard that if you are Pakistani you will probably get paid around half the salary as a Caucasian would get paid for the same job, and that the locals tend to discriminate against Pakistani's and people from the Sub continent in general.

I have heard all sorts of stories such as Pakistani's suffering injustice in court, and not being allowed into certain places like clubs and restaurants.

I was wondering what things are like in Qatar.

I found it a little disconcerting concidering that Pakistani workers go to these countries and help build the economy, and they get sidelined by Caucasian expats all the time.

As one friend put it "If you are Caucasian you are and expat. If you are from the sub continent you are an immigrant..."

Guys/Gals, I am sorry to say many people are using this blog to talk how are Pakistanis viewed or how are Pakistanis as a nation, whereas the name suggests that its asking "how Pakistanis are being treated in Qatar". In most cases this blog is to be responded to by Pakistanis not non-Pakistanis, unless they know some Pakistani and know how s/he feels of the treatment given to him.

Basically I would say different Pakistanis in different areas are treated differently. On the road, it unfortunately depends on how poor you are perceived to be and treated accordingly. The richer you look, or the bigger the car you drive, the more respect you usualy get.

On a lighter note: If Qatar visa policies remain that stringent for Pakistanis, soon we wont have enough Pakistanis to respond to this question.

Dear All ,

Never judge a person based on his nationality or race. Thier are GOOD PAKISTANI'S as well as BAD PAKISTANI's. I am a pakistani too and have more friends from different nationalities than from Pakistan AND they are all well. friendship will go bad when you expect a return from a relationship rather than a long lasting friendship.

So dont be biased and treat every person as good as you treat your countrymen

some people afraid of pakistanis; if you mentioned about "he is pakistani", expect of a negative expression from the face.

I myself before was afraid to pakistanis, but when i come to know some pakistanis are good hearted people, i was ashamed of myself.

Some Pakistanis are good people. Not every pakistanis are rapist or killers...AS i believe "IN Every forest there are many species of living things."

Since there are Pakistanis working in almost all the fields here, they are given different treatment accordingly.

There are Pakistanis working as doctors ( really good ones, I must say), engineers, ...... drivers and of course labours. All are treated and viewed differently.

But over all WE are treated nicely here. If and only if the government goes easy on our visas.

The treatment is not bad, but personally I feel, it is not as good as it is in the UAE!!

Nyways, No harm in giving it a try!

If you face any problem, you can leave Qatar, as long as you can get the EXIT PERMIT!!
