Im from UK, I just arrive at Doha 1 week ago, Now, I still looking for the school for my son (year 8), and I think I will try to cambridge school, does anyone know about this school ?
my friend (from UK) has son in that school, and he said the school is very good and his son has improvement.
Buses and school building do matter but not too much. One should see the end result. I had a very good experience with Cambridge School. My two sons only studies two terms last year and they got excellent results. My Elder son got straight 5 A* in the O-level. The overall result of the school was also very good. My younger son also showed remarkable result in grade-9, despite the fact that he missed grade-8 and 1st term of grade-9.
My son (5ys) is studying in Cambridge School, he is in Gr. 1. We are really not happy with the School Management... buses are old and in poor condition ... Even School is very old style from inside ... Just thinking to move my son to another school soon.
They say it's British School but most of the teachers are from South Africa or Srilanka !!!
it is the worst school you can put your kids in i was in it and it was the dirtiest school ever then i went to qatar academy and it was waaaaaaay better and cleaner i then graduated from there and i am now in george town university

try qis .it is british and very good
It is hard for new arrivals to get their children into any school so I have great sympathy for you and your situation.
The poor quality of the English in the responses of those who praise this school says it all for me.
I suggest that you:
Check the qualifications of the administration and teachers.
Do a tour of the school.
See the balance between British and non-British children in classes.
Check whether the teachers are mostly British trained or do they come from South Africa and Sri Lanka as another 'poster' stated?
Talk to as many parents and pupils as you can.

I strongly recommend this school for new comers.
Thanks
