Hello everybody,

It's my first time to ask a question hope I'll find an answer!!
I was married to a qatari citizen( in islmic way not official)...after 2 months, he return to Doha for a work, and till now I have no news, I tried to contact him by phone, and sent him letters to his box office, but no way.
I'm so stressed, I won't think that he cheat on me...but after all this time I start to doubt.
I don't know how can I find his physical address in Doha, I only have his postal box?!
So please, if u have any idea about how can I get information there, please don't hesitate to communicate.
Many thanx.

Hi Ustache

Ive just read your blog. I can understand, that you are deeply disturbed by your situation and I can only guess that you may be of a different nationality/religion? To your so called "Husband" So Im going to ask you a few questions. Hopefully a few of us can answer or put the pieces together to help you get to the bottom of this.

First of all you said that you had the "Islamic wedding?". I need to ask you did you have a Mullah/ Molvi present (the islamic priest?) when the islamic marriage/vows were read?

Who actually performed the so called Islamic marriage?

Secondly did you have any witnesses present ie any of your friends and his at the time of this so call islamic marriage?

Thirdly do you have a marriage certificate? that was given to you as one copy, one copy given to him and one copy that the mullah would keep as an offical marriage document?

If you havent got any of the above then it may well be the case that you were not married in the Isalmic way at all and this was a ploy to make you think he was marrying you as his wife to get you to sleep with him. It may well be a "Muta" marriage- a marriage of convenience these are temporary marriages. You need to check this out with a legitimate Mullah- Islamic Cleric in your local Mosque.

I have a horrid feeling you were duped into a false pretence marriage. Lets be honest, he hasnt given you his home details, you only have a a PO No which is bad news, no one answers his calls... have you met his family members?

The only good news is if you havent had any of the above then I suspect that you are not married at all. However, if you have got all the above then in order for you to have a divorce you must go to your local Mosque and tell them the situation they will arrange for a "khulla" a divorce that is requested by the female. Your situation sounds very familar to someone I have heard of in the Uk. She got her divorce and heard nothing from the guy after it was sanctioned. Let me know if this is the case.

I hope that this info has helped.

Hello,

Many thanx for all kind answers..I would like to clarify a point, I married him in islamic way, but isn't registred in the mosque ! I didn't know why I accepted such a strange contrat, but I really need to take my rights from him.

I live in europe, and I never thought that muslims can joke about marriage.

He tolds me that he is a business man, and he works in lot of fields, but I feel like he lies.

The problem, I called his main office, and nobody answer!

Im afraid that he cheat on me like many arabs whom come to europe for fun !!

I'll be glade to read your advices.

Best regards.

Do you know the company where he is working? Perhaps you could get their phone number and call personnel or human resources. O send a Fedex package/letter to him at his work address.
