how long are the waiting list for schools in Doha and does it matter what company you work for?

the Michael DeBakey school (see the schools database here) still has lots of room for this year for students who are interested careers in the sciences.

All the reputable ones tend to be over subscribed. It is best to apply early. Doha College and DESS give priority to British passport holders. I think the American schools also do the same for their nationals.

I'm not sure about prioritising by which company you work at.

You may wish to consider tutoring as an alternative until your child gains a place.

Yes, with some schools, the company you work for (or even your nationality) can help. Like Qatar Academy, Qatar Foundation employees' kids come first. DESS, British kids get first priority. Not only are waitlist long at most schools, some won't even put your kid ON the list because the waitlist is so full. It's beyond frustrating...

Hi there, I don't know but I have called some schools for sept 2009 and they told me that the inscription are not yet open. Suppose to be open in march for pre-inscription in the waiting list....
