Is It Against the Law to Have a Lady Guest?
I'm an expat currently living in Qatar and would like to have an insight into a very important issue. I recently invited a girl to my flat and we spent not more than 10 minutes in the house. I have some Muslim flat mates since then there's been chaos in the house. They are saying it's against the law and bla-bla-bla.....@...?xh?.....etc.
This incidence took place about 2 weeks ago. Do you think they can contact the Police and get me into trouble? Please advise so I'll know how to react next time my good muslim friends bring up this issue.
The second thing is they are forcing me out of the house and they've given me very little time to look for one. I've only got about a week to vacate the place. The truth is, we never signed any proper contract. We only wrote something on a piece of paper so legally I'm not sure how this will hold in any court of law. Please advise. Should I contact my Consular about this?
Thanks
your muslim buddies are just jeaulous because you did manage to get laid and they can't, but yeah in the end it is prohibited..
regarding the house, let them drag you to court and make a legal case of it, by the time you have to show op in court, its already march or april, so plenty of time for you to find a new house ;)
no its not against the law
Apologize to your flatmates and settle the issue. If they don't accept ur apology then say sorry and find another house.
If u share a house respect the flatmates and their privacy too.
you should mention about inviting your visitor to your flat mates before the issue. first of all, this is not directly about we live in a muslim country. this is about respecting the people you live in a same place. they should know if you have visitors over the night.
and this is the answer; as far as i know, qatar is governed by islamic religious law - sheria which is the legal framework within which the public and private aspects of life are regulated for those living in a legal system based on islamic principles of jurisprudence.Sharia deals with many aspects of day-to-day life, including politics, business, contracts, family, sexuality, hygiene, and social issues.so qatar police can get involved in the situation.
say u dint know abt dis n ask for apology close de matter n shift sumwher else
yeah it is against the law...
My main concern now is that if I don't vacate, they might phone the police. As I said, the lady spent just few minutes there.
Since u don't have any proper contract u can be kicked out anytime by your house partners.
As regards to bringing a female to the house, in sharing house it all depends on mutual understanding. If u bring a female to a house which is being shared you are obviously inviting trouble.
Unfortunately u got what is expected. If u want freedom rent a complete house!
If you're a man and letting in a lady guest to your flat it is NOT allowed, and vice versa. There are certain rules that you need to follow strictly while in Qatar so that our Muslim brothers would not be offended by our actions which are not really maliciously done.
As for you being kicked out of the flat, you should have at least 30 days notice to look for another house and vacate.
Good luck.
